What are my ceremony options?

Wedding ceremony outside Manor House in Sussex

You’ve picked your dream venue, now you need to think about what you would like for your ceremony.

Firstly, what does your wedding ceremony look like? Is it in a Church, on a beautiful lawn with the backdrop of a manor, under the canopy of a stunning sail cloth, or surrounded by woodland?

At Woodmancote Place you have a choice of all these options. We have three licensed lawns available to hold your civil ceremony. This means you can be legally married anywhere on these lawns, whether that be by the lakeside, the Manor House Lawn with the backdrop of the house, or by the deer park, the choice is yours. My favourite space for our civil ceremonies is the Manor House Lawn, cocooned by the beautiful yew hedging and with the backdrop of the Manor House, it really has the wow factor, and it makes for such amazing photographs.

If you decide to get married off-site in a registry office, you can opt to have a celebrant ceremony anywhere in the grounds. A celebrant service is a personal ceremony, unique to each couple and is not legally binding. We can recommend some celebrants who have created the most magical ceremonies that are talked about for years to come.

We are also lucky enough to have a chocolate-box pretty church adjacent to our grounds. St Peter’s Woodmancote is a picturesque church that can hold up to 175 guests. Accessible via Brighton Road or from one of our Woodmancote footpaths, it is an ideal option if you would like a religious wedding ceremony.

If you are outside of the Parish, the church ask you to regularly attend church services on a Sunday for a period of at least six months.

Do we allow fire ceremonies?

Yes we do, we are an inclusive venue that celebrates all cultures and the importance of their ceremonies. We allow fire ceremonies and have specific areas that are suitable and safe for this integral part of your marriage.

Can we throw confetti at our ceremony?

We love a confetti moment and always encourage it! Whether you decide to have that in front of the house, or outside the Church, the confetti moment is taken after the vows and signing of the register. Take your time to walk through your confetti aisle, take in all the smiling faces of your loved ones and treasure the stunning photographs.

Whatever type of ceremony you decide to have, the choice is personal and possible to you, at Woodmancote Place.
